Shepherd's Hook, Vacuum Hose Metal Extension Tube To Carb

This is the metal tube that lots of VW owners took off and threw away back in the day.  It is needed to prevent fuel from dumping into the vacuum canister on the distributor and filling it up, which causes it to fail.  It is often overlooked when installing an SVDA distributor with a 34 PICT carburetor, or others such as Kadrons that have been modified for vacuum.  The vacuum line should be routed in such a way that the top of the bend is higher than the fitting on the carburetor to prevent fuel from flowing downhill and directly into the vacuum can.
